Today I taught my sweet "firsties" about Martin Luther King Jr. I loved listening to their passion about the injustice of segregation. They just couldn't imagine a world where the color of your skin decided where you sat on a bus or what water fountain you drank out of. After reading a nonfiction book about Dr. King, we watched a great video on Brain Pop Jr.
My favorite part of the day was during recess when one of my girls created a sign that read, "I love Martin Luther King Jr." and walked around our classroom on her own Freedom March. Precious!
